“How Priceless is your unfailing Love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” Psalm 36:7 (NIV)
For us to know and to be Aware that God loves us is worth more than anything else we possess – it is priceless. And to realize that His love will never ever fail makes it worth even more. There is no way for us to put a value on it. There is no way to purchase it. He is so close that we can be as aware of his presence just as a baby bird is aware of the mother bird's presence. In normal circumstances on a farm, a hen hatches a brood of chicks. The chicks follow her around the yard and if the hen senses danger, maybe a hawk flying above, she calls her brood and they run to her and hide under her wings. That is the picture in this verse. This is our promise from God that we can find refuge in Him safely under his wings from the dangers that threaten us. Jesus Christ loves us so much that He has already placed Himself between us and eternal death. He paid the price for our eternal life because of His love for us. Priceless Indeed!
