Modern Mind Control

Tags: mind control

We are the most propagandized people in the known history of the world. While the techniques and mechanisms are the same now as they have always been, modern communications and data mining systems have made it more effective than ever.

When people hear advertising techniques described as “mind control,” they often think that’s overly sensationalistic. That’s because they don’t know what Mind Control really is. It’s persuasion, not mind control, they say; mind control involves torture, drugs, weird flashing lights, and that sort of thing. Those techniques are used, of course, but those sorts of things are just a tiny slice of the mind control pie. The most common techniques are being used against you every day. And, whether you are aware of it or not, you are very easily programmable.

While every aspect of mass media is now being used to shape your opinions and beliefs, the second most common channel is through news reporting. Most of the time, the goal of the mind control efforts is commercial, to get you to believe things that are beneficial to the owners of the media outlets. However, quite often goal is political, and comes directly from the government.

For example, it was revealed in 2000 that during the NATO bombing of Kosovo, “several officers from the US Army’s 4th Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Group at Ft. Bragg worked in the news division at CNN’s Atlanta headquarters.” This same Army Psyop outfit had “planted stories in the U.S. media supporting the Reagan Administration’s Central America policies,” which was described by the Miami Herald as a “vast psychological warfare operation of the kind the military conducts to influence a population in enemy territory.” These Army PSYOP officers also worked at National Public Radio (NPR) at the same time. The US military has, in fact, had a strong relationship with CNN.

Most mind control comes to you through advertising. Long ago, advertising stopped being about informing potential customers about products and services and became about actively coercing those customers into making decisions that benefit the companies the most. As a result, marketers have done more and better research into mind control methods than anyone else, and are the reigning kings of mind control. They are so good at it that even people who work in the industry often fail to see the truth of what they’re doing.

The really scary thing about these types of mind control is not that it happens, not that they’re ubiquitous, and not even that you don’t even notice it 99% of the time. It’s that being aware of it and even noticing it while it’s happening does not make it any less effective.

This is one case where knowledge alone does not equal power.

So what can you do? There’s an ancient technique that can be put to good use here. Whenever you do anything, whenever you decide anything, ask yourself one simple question: why am I doing this? Pay attention to the answer. Live consciously, let your inner robot have less control, and you will be free.
