I saw a gentleman wearing a T-shirt that said, “Don’t Give Up.  Remember Why You Started.”  T-shirt wisdom can catch you off Guard but I instantly went into thought over this one.  You can be going through a test of Faith, you can feel a little burned out or you may be totally absorbed by the daily grind of life.  Whatever the reason, we all face times when we feel like giving up on our faith or maybe just taking a step back in our service. But as the T-shirt starkly reminded me, we can’t give up.  Go back to why you started your walk with Christ.  Yes, some of us just inherited the act of going to church from childhood but even in spite of that we have all had a moment, an event, a loss, something that drove us to the cross which is beyond going to church. We must guard against getting into routines and being busy and understand that our faith is organic, like a plant which starts with a seed.  That seed is the thing that drove us to our knees.  That thing that would have crushed us had we not encountered Jesus Christ.  It […]
