The human capacity to Love is so limited when we consider God’s immeasurable love. We know that it is limited because God tells us in the scripture to love Him “with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30).

If we as humans knew how to really, truly love, God could have just said love Him. But because we are flawed in our understanding of love, He has to tell us to love Him with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength.

Outside of God, we really have no concept of the power of love. It is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ that opens us up to the capacity to forgive, to love and to feel compassion. If you need more love in your life, you can find it in God.

Loving God with all that you are allows Him to pour love into you and enables you to love other people. Not this worldly love, because that love can be cold (Matthew 24:12). No, God’s love enables you to forgive what the world would say is unforgiveable. It allows you to have true compassion which is always accompanied by action. True compassion for others moves one to action. We are compelled to pray or give or take some kind of action to alleviate the suffering of our fellow human being.

Navigating relationships is difficult. So much of the rejection we experience in life is linked to romantic relationships. Mostly because we try to pursue what we think is love. But if we knew real love, we’d wait on it!

Your relationship with God equips you to have a relationship with others. It is through our relationship with God that we learn to love Him, ourselves and others. We learn our gifts and talents. We learn how to forgive, how to serve. So it’s a mistake to try to navigate this world without a relationship with God. You are more prone to be hurt and hurt others.

Turn your attention to building your relationship with God and watch all the other relationships in your life improve. Become a better parent, spouse, friend even a better worker. Not only will you experience love unlimited but you will have the capacity to love others through all kinds of situations. So take the time to build the most important relationship in your life, you will not regret it!
