Become Saintly

“A saintly person should learn from the mountain to devote all his efforts to the service of others and to make the welfare of others the sole reason for his existence. Similarly, as the disciple of the tree, he should learn to dedicate himself to others.” (Shrimad-Bhagavatam 11.7.38)

We must first take good care of our own family members and then do some service for the benefit of others with our time, energy, resources, and money. The “Others” means all living beings and not just those who belong to one’s own community or religion. Do good to people of all religions, communities, races, nations, and even the plants (save and pant trees) and animals (stop killing, go vegetarian). This is the Shrimad-Bhagavatam or Vedic teaching.
