Seek First Project: God’s Mighty Weapons – Fellowship (Day 105)

We use God’s Mighty Weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. - 2 Corinthians 10:4

It's harder to worry when you talk it over with a friend. Anxiety is greatly diminished when shared with someone who loves you. Fear loses it's power when the light of others helps you to dispel the darkness.

One of God's mightiest weapons is Fellowship. If you belong to Christ, you have fellowship with other Christians! These people will listen. They will pray with and for you. They will help and encourage and empathize.

We need each other.

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone?
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

To wield the weapon of fellowship, we have to humble ourselves to ask for help. We have to make ourselves vulnerable to others, share our stories and our tears. This takes courage, but with God, all things are possible.

Today, I want us to pray and ask God to give us the strength we need to seek out fellowship. This might be online. It might be in person. It might be from family, or church, or even complete strangers. I want to wield this weapon well. I want to strike down fear and worry and anxiety by drawing nearer to others who love Christ, and in turn love me.

How about you?

and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. - Hebrews 10:24-25

Mighty God, we can't thank You enough for the resource of fellow Christians. Help us to reach out, both to give and to receive. In Jesus' Name, Amen...
