Shaykh Ahmad ibn Muhammad Ibn 'Ata Allah al-Iskandari (may Allah have mercy on him), was a Maliki jurist and shaykh of the Shadhili Sufi order. Born in Alexandria, he wrote the, "Hikam" which is considered a classical masterpiece in sufi literature. It comprises of a collection of concise, comprehensive and sublime sayings in the field of self purification (Tazkiya). Hikam meaning wise sayings, have been extracted from the Quran and Hadith.
Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad in Ramadan 2013 took it upon hm self to shed light upon the "Hikam" in accordance to the naqshbandi silsilah. The original commentary is in Urdu, but a English translation has also been provided by Shaykh Kamaluddin Ahmed.
