Genesis 30
At first glance, you'd think that Jacob was back to his old ways again, of trying trying to cheat people out of their wealth; but with further reading I realized that was not the case. Jacob's actions were according to God's will and direction. After labouring for years to build his uncle's house, it was finally time to build his own. Jacob grew to become a man who asked for his fair wages, instead of 'cooking' up an opportunity to swindle.
Years ago I had to work for low wages with no benefits and on top of that, my employer verbally abused me and sought unjust ways to cut into my salary. I found the experience to be quite distressing, and it came to the point where I finally quit. I had to do a whole lot of praying through and after it all, because I needed the income to pay my bills. Despite the ordeal, I gained experience which equipped me for my next job; which of course was waaaaay better.
Many times God puts us in situations, though not to our liking, to refine our characters and train us for our next assignment. Jacob didn't just spend over fifteen years in Padan-aram, so his uncle Laban could get rich. No; there were things he was to learn while he lived there: and not just to breed animals. He was to grow in his knowledge of God and mature into a man of honour.
If you find yourself in a situation where you feel unfairly treated, or are working for 'unjust' wages, ask God to show you His purpose for your good; and help you to grow into your next assignment. His Word says in Ephesians 6 vs 5"Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your Heart, as unto Christ;    6Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
   7With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
   8Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free. " and in Philippians 4 vs  4"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.    5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
   6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
   7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. "
