Mary or Martha?

This is for all the Ladies out their that are mommy's, ma ma's to be and those who help to raise those precious children of ours.  We tend to want to be "Super Mom" or "Super Ladies", each day of our lives.  By working, taking care of the house hold, giving of our time to others besides our families and everything in between.  Not realizing that all "Super Mom's" and "Super Ladies" need love, comfort and to be taken care of by our heavenly father.  Which, brings me to this message.

Luke 10:38 - 42 NKJV copyright 1980 by Thomas Nelson, Inc.

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.

And She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone?  Therefore tell her to help me."

And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.  But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."

After reading that let me ask you a question.  Do you feel like a Martha or Mary these days?  Being a mother I know that I can be a Martha to many times.  But I do realize that I must take the opportunity to spend time in the Lord's presence to get through the day.  To many times we just think we can do it without any help.  If we want to be that "Super Mom" or "Super Lady", we have to lean on Jesus for strength, guidance, wisdom, knowledge and love to fill those shoes.

I pray for all you beautiful ladies that God continues a great work in all of you.  Giving you the knowledge, patience, strength, guidance and rest along this journey of motherhood.

Blessings,
R.C. Givens
