Teaching Without Judgement

Shopping therapy has always been one of my favorite past times by myself not because I purchase a lot of stuff,  but it helps me to clear my mind when I have so much on it. On my weekly therapy trip I was walking down each aisle with these cute glass bowls in my hand.  I had the thought in the back of my mind what if I drop one because I decided not to get a cart.  Yes, the unthinkable happened, one slip out of my hand breaking into a million pieces right in front of me.  The first thought was I don't want no one to get hurt or be cut by the glass.  So I started sweeping the glass to the side with my shoe, until I could get a store worker to help.  During this process I kept telling myself I could have prevented this from happening, only if I would have listened to the words in my head.

These thoughts came to mind God is this what it looks like when we chose to cut others down by our words and actions, because we feel they are not living by your standards?  Is this how it looks after the damage we have done, because we thought we had the right to say what we want to one?  Is this what it looks like when we can not fix it?  With those thoughts I decided to set down with God and allow Him to speak the verses of what He wanted me to see about Judgement and learning to be more Christ like without turning others away from Him.  Below is what came to me.

John 8:7 NKJV

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."

Luke 6:37 NKJV

"Judge not, and you shall not be judged, condemn not, and you shall not be condemned, forgive, and you will be forgiven."

Romans 2:1-5 NKJV

Therefore you are inexcusable, o man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

But we know that the judgement of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.  And do you think this, o man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgement of God?

Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and long suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgement of God.

The last verse was a long one but I think He wanted to get His point across for my understanding.  But I will not leave off with just those verses because the last one He revealed to me was written by the Apostle Paul to Titus.  It hit home to me regarding those that have a great relationship with Christ on how to teach others of Him without the judgement.  I wanted to share it with you.

Titus 3:1-11 NKJV

Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works.  These things are good and profitable to men.

But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and striving about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.

Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sining, being self-condemned.

Thank you for reading along today and allowing me to share what God laid on my heart this week.  This is a great reminder from the New Testment showing us that those who have come to Christ and follow Him had been forgiven of those sins and we should be reminded that when we are reaching out to others around us we must act according to God's sounding advise of "peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to men." in order to reach those that are in need without judging in the process.
