How Many Ways?

        How Many Ways?

A young guy, apparently religious, came up to me at the tefillin stand and asked me some questions, such as, if Torah allows other Religions,

"Couldn't it be that the Torah allows many ways?"

"It depends on what you mean by "ways". If you mean something like Sephardi and Ashkenazi, and such, then fine, there are different ways, but if you mean other religions, then absolutely not!"

"Why, what's wrong with other religions? If they allow for the belief in Hashem?"

"The Torah allows belief only in the One Infinite G-d, not in many gods!"

"But it says His House will be a house for all peoples."

"Yes, 'His house,' not their houses."

Every time I would answer his question, he would come up with another one, until I said, "Someone is helping you to raise questions…. Is it a girlfriend or what?"

      He answered, "The internet."

It is forbidden for a student to investigate other religions. When you do not know how to answer all of their questions, that study can lead you to confusion, doubts, false beliefs. A Jew must learn all of his or her spiritual teachings only from proper, kosher sources.
