G-d told Moshe to tell Pharoah to let the Jews go out for three days, but He knew they were going to go out forever. Was this a lie, or what? Why didn't G-d just tell Pharaoh the truth, and do whatever He wanted to do?
It's called, "measure for measure". It means, just like we do, so will things come back to us.
When Pharaoh began to enslave the Jewish people, he didn't say, 'Come be my slaves'. He said, 'Come do some work for the country', and then slowly he enslaved the Jews. Even though he always intended slavery, he brought it about stage by stage.
Therefore, the Jews going out of slavery and into freedom was also stage by stage… first, three days… then more… and more.
So it is with all things, both good and bad. Unless we change for the better, whatever we do today will come back to us tomorrow.
