Eliazar is a nice guy. He is visiting Israel from Toronto… 66 years old... used to ride a Hog - (a Harley-Davidson motorcycle) … his arms are covered with huge tattoos… teaches self-defense for a living! He showed us how to use his cane as a strong self-defense weapon… a really tough guy!

     After he read the Shema in English, I explained to him the significance of putting on tefillin, especially at the Kotel, how it created a "time of favor" when Hashem would listen closely to all of his prayers, and I sent him to the Kotel, hopefully to open his heart.

     What happened when the tough guy began to talk to Hashem? He broke down crying… tears streaming from his eyes. When he came back, he said that he had "a meaningful time".

     No matter how you look on the outside, the inside of the Jew wants to open his or her heart and talk to Hashem.
