A young rabbi came up to me early this morning at the Kotel. He had an automatic rifle hanging from a strap over his shoulder. He was on his way to the warfront. He is married, the Father of a three-year-old girl. He teaches girls in a seminary here in the Rova.

     I asked him if he knew where he is going. (Where they were sending him.)

     He said, "I know exactly where I am going. I am going inside." (Inside Gaza)

     The Torah portion we just read tells us that Hashem sent our father Abraham to this Land where we are standing, that his descendants would inherit it, and that Hashem would protect us so we can flourish here. Now, again we see His words being fulfilled.

     Hashem bless all of the Jewish people, especially those of us in the Land, and even more so those who are putting their lives in danger to protect our right to live here in peace.
