There are two kinds of men who come up to me in the morning looking for a Siddur (prayer book). I wonder why this one is like this, and that one is like that.
When they ask for a siddur, if there are none right there, I point to the bookshelves and they go off to get one.
I watch to see what they do. The vast majority walk over, find a siddur, and come back with it. Once in a while I see one go over and come back with two or three of them. One to daven with, and the others to put on the table for anyone else who might need one. I wonder why almost all of them think only of themselves, but these outstanding ones think of others, too?
I know that those who care for others are not going to have to go looking for things in the World to Come. Their wonderful share is already prepared for them.
