Sometimes It Feels Good to Cry

His name is Pesach. He is from Manchester, England, but he lives in Texas. He's an accountant. The last time he put on Tefillin was 1989… on a subway in New York City! (Thank G-d for Chabad... Who else would be putting tefillin on Jews on a subway!)

After he read the Shema in English, I explained how doing a mitzvah provides a "Time of Favor," and that he should go stand by the Kotel and talk to Hashem to take advantage of the moment.

I watched him. After standing there a few seconds, he broke down crying… tears were streaming from his eyes... again, and again.

When He came back, I asked him why he was crying. He told me the last time he was at the Kotel was 1980. His parents were just divorced and he prayed that they should remarry.

He said, "Within two years my parents remarried. When I remembered what happened I felt like my soul was coming up in my throat… I am so thankful... and I cried… it felt so good!" And he started crying again.

Sometimes it feels very good to cry.
