The beginning of the Month of Elul. The King is in the field. Hashem is always everywhere at all times, but His aspect of Kingship usually sits upon His throne in His Palace. During the month of Elul, the King walks among us wherever we are. It is a time to take an audit of our spiritual life. A time to discuss with the King what we want to do better in order to prepare for Rosh Hashanah, the New Year. We begin to blow the shofar in Elul to wake up our sleepy souls.

     Rosh Hashanah is the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, and a day of judgment and coronation of G‑d as king. May all of us be blessed with a successful Elul, and a wonderful, healthy, and happy New Year.
