Let's say that someone gives you an apple on Monday. You are so happy. You eat the apple and it is delicious. "Thank G-d, the guy gave me an apple."

     Then on Tuesday the same guy walks by but this time he does not give you an apple. What do you say? "Oh nuts! How terrible! No apple! Double yuck!", or do you say, "Thank G-d I had the apple yesterday. It was delicious"

     Whichever of these you say will define your mental attitude, the way you experience the world. There are always good reasons to thank G-d.
