I want to encourage you today to believe for and walk in the future God has for you.
There is a catch however, you will need to press into God and stand firm against the devil. Just as soon as you begin to set your sights on God’s best for your life there will be a battle… for your identity and your sense of spiritual vision. You will need to know your Authority in Christ and how to use that authority to defeat the enemy’s schemes (Eph 6:10-12).
Defining Spiritual Authority:
Spiritual authority is the right to control, command, or determine the future based upon God’s Promise and the Holy Spirit’s guidence. Its like a badge of approval to advance His Will in the midst of difficult circumstances. Believers in Christ have been entrusted with a spiritual ‘power of attorney’… an authority to act in the absence and interest of God. Much like a nation’s ambassador would represent their interest in a foreign land, so also we represent God’s Kingdom interest on Earth.
Delegated to Us:
All authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Jesus (Mt 28:18). He proved it by defeating the devil in every one of his evil works (1 Jn 3:8), crushing his head at the Cross (Gen 3:15). Then, by rising from the dead, He disarmed every principality and power that ruled in the heavenly realms. He is even now, seated “far above all principality and power, might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come” (Eph 1:21). His victory has become our hope of liberty from the power of sin and the grip of Satan’s lies. Although, the devil stood in defiance to God’s Promises in our lives, Christ won our victory. So that we could live in His authority.
Simply Believe:
Jesus said: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Lk 10:19). Faith and obedience unlock the door of authority. If you can believe for the destiny of God, you can walk in it. Just remember to hold on to your identity in Christ Jesus and focus on His vision for the future.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jer 29:11)
