As a Dharma teacher, I have met many different people throughout the years. And almost everyone I meet has experienced Regret at some point in their lives, some more than others. Some have achieved their goals of wealth and fortune, others have found fame and renown, and many have lived ordinary lives with family and friends surrounding them. Yet, no matter how successful, famous, wealthy, etc they are, everyone has something they wished they could change or could do differently, if they had the chance… For some, life had even become meaningless. I have explained many times that regret stems from repeated actions of practicing the eight worldly Dharmas and clinging onto the three poisons of samsara.
