Taraweeh 12

Surah : An-Nahl 13 to 16

Allah commands justice, good conduct and giving to near relatives and He forbids indecency, injustice and rebellion.

Do not break your oaths after you have sworn them, for swearing in His name, you have made Allah your surety.

When you recite the Quran, seek Allah’s protection from Shaitaan. Shaitaan has no authority over those who believe and put their trust in their Rabb.

The Quran was brought down by The Holy Spirit (Gibrael) in piecemeal from Allah. This was done in order to strengthen the faith of the believers and give guidance and good news to Muslims.

Anyone who is forced to deny faith while his heart remains loyal to the faith shall be absolved. But those who deny faith willingly after its acceptance shall incur the wrath of Allah.

If one is forced by necessity to eat the flesh of swine or the forbidden things, intending not to transgress limits, Allah is surely Forgiving and Merciful.

Allah is forgiving and merciful towards those who do something wrong through ignorance, but later repent and mend their ways.

Ibrahim a.s was an Ummah (an exemplary leader) an upright man, obedient to Allah. He was always grateful for the favours of Allah.

Allah gave him a good life in this world and in the hereafter he will be among the righteous.

Call people to the Way of Allah with wisdom and best advise, and reason with them in the most courteous manner.

If you have to retaliate, let your retaliation be in proportion with the wrong which was done to you.

But if you endure with patience, the best reward is for those who are patient.

Be patient – for your patience is not but with the help of Allah. Do not grieve over the unbelievers and do not distress yourself because of their plots.

Al- Isra Section 1 to 4

Glory be to Allah who took His devotee Muhammad (saws) one night from Masjid Al-Haram to Al Masjid-Al-Aqsa whose vicinity Allah has blessed, in order to show him some of Allah’s signs (Miraj – Allah gave the Prophet a tour of the universe).

This Quran guides to the Way which is perfectly straight, and gives good news to the believers who do good deeds.

Allah has fastened the destiny of every man to his own neck. On the Day of Resurrection Allah will bring out for him a book (of deeds) spread wide open.

Lower your wings of humility upon your parents and pray: O Allah, bestow on them Your blessings just as they cherished me when I was a child.

Give to your relatives their due and to the needy. Do not be a spendthrift.

Speak courteously to the needy persons.

Do not be stingy or too prodigal. Allah gives abundantly to whom He wills and sparingly to whom He wills, for He is aware of the condition of His servants and observes them closely.

Do not kill your children for fear of sustenance.

Do not go near the unlawful sex. It is a shameful deed opening ways to other evil.

Do not kill anyone except under the Islamic law.

Do not go near the property of orphans except with good intentions.

Fulfill your pledges, you shall be accountable for your pledges.

Give full measure and with even scale. This is best for you in the end.

Do not follow anyone blindly on matters where you have no knowledge. Use of your eyes, ears and heart will be questioned on the Day of Judgement.

Do not walk arrogantly on earth.

If there were other gods besides Allah, they would have certainly tried to find a way to dethrone the Master of the Throne.

When you recite the Quran, Allah puts a hidden barrier between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter.

Tell the unbelievers that you will most certainly be brought back to life even if you were iron or stone.

When Allah calls on that Day, you will rise up in response to it, and will think that you were in a state of death, just for a little while.

Surah : Al Isra 6 to 11

Speak only what is the best. Surely shaitaan stirs trouble amongst people. Shaitaan is an open enemy to mankind.

Those to whom the disbelievers pray, they themselves seek the means of access to their Rabb.

Allah refrains from sending signs or miracles now, only because the former generations rejected them. Signs are sent as warning (example of she camel of people of Thamud is given), and if people reject the signs of Allah, they are doomed.

Story of Iblees and not prostrating before Adam.

Shaitaan tries to allure people with his seductive voice, the promise of Shaitaan is only deception.

As for Allah’s servants, shaitaan will not find any authority over them. Allah is sufficient as their Guardian.

Those who play blind to the Truth in this world, will be blind in the hereafter and will go further astray from the Way to Salvation.

Had We not strengthened your faith O Muhammad (saws), you might have made some compromise with the people. In such a case We would have given you double punishment in this life and in the life hereafter.

Read the Quran at Fajr (dawn) for reading the Quran at Fajr is witnessed by the angels.

Pray Tahajjud during a part of the night with this Quran, an additional prayer for you O Muhammad (saws) so that your Rabb may exalt you to Maqaman Mahmuda (a station of great glory).

The Soul is of the command of Allah and the knowledge you are given about it, is but very little.

Allah shall gather the wrongdoers on the Day of Resurrection, all prone on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf.

When the flames of Hell fire dies down, Allah will rekindle for them the fierceness of fire.

Allah has set a deadline for all lives and there is no doubt about it.

If you had all the treasures of Allah’s mercy at your disposal, you still would have held them back for fear of spending. Man is ever stingy.

Surah Al Isra 12

To Musa Allah had given nine clear signs.

When Firaun resolved to remove Musa, Allah drowned him and those who were with him, leaving the land to the followers of Musa.

People who were endowed with knowledge of the books earlier (Jews and Christians), when Quran is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration and weeping, and this increases their reverence (Sajdah).

Offer your Salaah neither in too loud a voice not in too low a voice but seek a middle course. Glorify Allah’s greatness in the best possible way.

Surah Al – Kahf Section 1 to 4

Praise be to Allah who has revealed this Quran and made it free from any crookedness.

Allah has decked the world with all kinds of ornaments to test the people and see who do the best deeds.

Story of the Companions of the Cave and of Ar Raqeem –

Allah had increased guidance and had put courage in the hearts of certain young men. They stood up and declared that they will never call upon any other deity except Allah.

They withdrew from the land and took refuge in a cave.

If you could see them, you might have thought them to be awake but they were asleep and their dog lay stretched out at the entrance.

When they woke up, they thought to have been asleep for a day or part of a day. They sent one of the companions to the city with a silver coin to buy pure food.

Allah revealed their secret to the people of the land, so they may know that the promise of Allah is true and there is no doubt about the coming Hour.

Instead of considering the Hour of Judgement, the people started arguing about what to build over their place of sleep. Finally, they built a place of worship over them.

The people guess if they were 3 or 5 or 6. Say, Allah alone knows their number. Do not enter into discussions about this except in a cursory way.

Never say of anything , “I will certainly do”, except if you add “If Allah wills” and if you forget, call Allah to mind and say ” I hope my Rabb shall guide me ever closer than this to the Right Way”.

Allah reveals that they had stayed asleep in the cave for 309 years.

Keep yourself content with those who call upon their Rabb morning and evening, seeking His good pleasure. Let not your eyes turn away from them desiring the attraction of Worldly Life.

For the rejectors of Truth, is Hell fire whose flames will hem them from all sides. When they cry for help, they will be showered with hot water like boiling oil, which will scald their faces.

For those who believe and are righteous, for them is Jannah with gardens of eternity. They will be adorned with bracelets of gold and fine thick green garments of silk and soft couches.
