Hej allihopa,

Idag skriver Fr. Johnny till oss: "Jesus said to his disciples: "Courage it is I! Do not be afraid!  Fear is identified in the Scriptures as the single greatest enemy of life and love.  It affects everything we do and everything we hope for.  Courage on the other hand, is one of the qualities we most need to develop if we are to live life and love and hope to the full. Jesus sade till sina lärjungar:  "Mod, det är Jag.!  Var inte rädda!  Rädslan identifieras i Bibeln som den enda största fienden till liv och kärlek.  Det påverkar allt vi gör och allt vi hoppas på.  Mod är å andra sidan en av de gåvor vi mest behöver utveckla om vi ska leva liv och kärlek och hopp i all dess fullhet. Resten finns i brevet. 

Den 8 augusti, min bönedag, var det Heliga Dominikus, grundare av Dominikanordern, festdag.  Den kallas Order av Predikanter.  Prästen predikade om dagens evangelium, Apostles could not believe that they were empowered. They doubted that God´s power could work through them. We are often like the apostles, we easily feel defeated. We are God´s tools today -believe we are God´s tools.  Lärjungar kunde inte tro att de hade fått kraft. De tvekade att Guds kraft kunde arbeta genom dem. Vi gör ofta detsamma som lärjungar, vi har lätt för att känna oss besegrade. Vi är Guds redskap idag  -  tro att vi är Guds redskap. 

Jag tror ingen av oss är oberörd av händelsen i Beirut med många döda, skadade och som resultat hemlösa barn. Det är svårt att hitta ord.  Herre, vi lägger hela situationen i dina heliga händer.  Var med de lidande. Grip in så att de hemlösa barnen blir omhändertagna på det bästa sättet. Må de avlidna vila i frid. Låt alla erfara detta på något sätt.  Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Isabelle skrev under veckan att bön behövs för P. MarcStefan i Libanon. Han lever men många hus är förstörda. Tack för att P. Marc lever. Var med honom och låt alla känna sig burna av våra böner. Jesus Heliga Hjärta, vi litar på Dig.

Jag hörde också under veckan:  Remember, we are never forgotten by God.  Kom ihåg, Gud glömmer oss aldrig.

God, source of all life, continue to bless us with the movement of your Spirit in our lives.  Help us to remain open to the gift of new life that comes from you through the Holy Spirit.  Gud, källan till all kärlek, fortsätt att välsigna oss med din Andes rörelse i våra liv.  Hjälp oss att alltid vara     öppna för gåvan av nytt liv som kommer genom den Heliga Anden.  Loyola Press

 Attached is my input for next Sunday and the week following. As usual, I hope that this will be helpful for you in your marriage and/or your family life and also in the life of your faith community. Some parishes use the reflection on the Gospel sentence for their parish newsletter each week.

 The Word that I have chosen here is very important because it highlights two things that are vital today – courage and do not be afraid. Both of these are needed in this pandemic and also in the setting of all that is happening in our society and in the Church. Please use next week to grow in both of these gifts from God. You will be in my prayers every day that you may experience the love of God for you and in you. Please continue to pray for me and for one another. God bless you always.
