I am presently writing about Jewish rituals very dear to my heart. Birth, the circumcision of a mae new born, weddings and then....death. Each of these events is catered for in Jewish life - in abundance. It is at these moments when I am so desperate to believe that we are all designed by G-d and that He knows who we are, what we are here for, where we are going and that is He who will save us from oblivion and chaos. In my book I refer to Child birth as a miracle as I know no other way to describe it. I suppose it also goes without saying that the birth of a cow or a giraffe is similarlly a miracle. So, on one lvel, I - sometimes the doubter, accept nevertheless that I can witness miraces occurring every day of the year. But who is this G-d and is He the G-d of the torah or the G-d who allowed the tsunami to deprive quarter of a milion people the privilege of life. No wonder I am so confused.
