What a testimony!

Scripture:
And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. – Genesis 7:1

Observation:
The LORD had witnessed the level of man’s evil continue to rise since the fall of Adam. People became so vile that the LORD decided that He would destroy all of mankind along with all land animals and plants. His intent was to annihilate mankind from the face of the earth save one man and his family of seven. Than man was Noah the ark builder. The only reason the LORD spared this man and his family is because Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD, who said that Noah was a righteous man before the LORD.

Application:
All I can say at the moment is, “what a testimony!” Noah received credit from the LORD as being righteous, and there are only a few people in the annals of history who the LORD honored in such fashion. Although the Scriptures tells us there is none righteous, no, not one, they don’t lie when recording this statement. Noah was righteous, as righteous as he could as compared to his fellow man, hence the LORD’s statement for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.  We have to remember that Noah’s generation was as vile as could be, to the point that the LORD destroyed them from the face of the earth. Just think about it; one man found favor in the LORD’s eyes that he was spared certain death. Why? Because the LORD deemed him righteous and extended grace to him. It was really nothing that Noah had done in his abilities to be saved. He was merely a man who believed in the LORD and trusted in him. We all could learn a great lesson from Noah that was later iterated by the prophet Micah – do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly before the LORD.

Prayer:
Father, I am unworthy of anything and everything that you bestow upon me: mercy, grace, love, salvation, redemption, compassion, or even instruction. But oh how wonderful are your ways! I pray that I can leave behind a testimony like that of Noah, one of those of the great cloud of witnesses who were people of faith. I know that my righteousness is like a pile of trash to you, and it’s only through the blood sacrifice of your Son, Yashua, without which I was doomed for hell. Help me to become a person of greater faith who puts all of his trust in you. I want it to be said of me that the LORD saw him only as righteous, and again, that being because of the Messiah alone! I love you, Dad. May your grace be extended to me daily, and your will be done. So be it.
