These verses really describe what is going on right now all over the world. In Verse 6, Jesus said, “but the end is not yet.” That tells me we are getting so close to the rapture. Jesus spoke these words nearly 2,000 years ago, and we are able to see the Scriptures come true right before our very eyes. Thank you, Jesus, for allowing me to live at such a time as this. I want to write more about verse 8. Matthew 24:8 “All these are the beginning of sorrows.” This is talking about birth pangs, meaning birth pain. A soon-to-be mom knows when the sorrow and pain increase; then she is getting closer to having her child. We see the sorrows getting greater by the day until soon we will be in the clouds with our Savior. That is what this verse is talking about. 2 Timothy 3:12 “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” Notice there is no option here. I really believe it is going to get much worse for us, that is, Christians who are trying our best to lead the whole world to Christ. In 1995 (while I was in Bible College), I preached a message on why I believe there will be persecution of Christians in America before the rapture of the church – because he is not willing that any should perish but that all come to repentance. On January 6, 2021, I started praying that the Lord would humble America before the rapture so that millions of Americans would receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. I know what this means; It will get so hard on all of my families to live, and there will be so much more suffering, but I am willing to go through this for the sake of the lost. Think about this for the sake of all of your lost family members and all of your family members that think they’re saved but they are not. Are you willing to go through hard times also? If we have it easy all the way through to the rapture, do you think this will humble your family members to get saved? When things are going well for us, we tend to forget God. I really believe in my heart that if the Lord humbles America before the rapture, millions of Americans will get saved. I love America with all of my heart and would have given my life for my country, but I am not willing that any of my family members or fellow Americans go to hell because I want it to be easy for me all the way up to the rapture. I know what I am saying will be hard to swallow for some of you (or even most of you), but I ask you to think about your lost loved ones. If people will not humble themselves, they will not get saved, and they will be cast into the lake of fire forever. Heavenly Father, I pray that you will put my beloved America on her knees before the rapture so that millions of Americans will receive Jesus Christ as their Savior before it is eternally too late. I pray that you will hear your servants’ cry; in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen! After writing all of the painful things about my country, I want to write this verse. 1 Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” What a wonderful verse! Yes, I believe it is going to get much worse for us on earth and our families also; but real soon, this verse will be history recorded in the Bible. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” All three of these verses go together. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus. These verses lead to what the rest of the message is about. 2 Thessalonians 2:1 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.” If you do not get verse one, then you will not get the rest of the verses that follow. Verse one is the key. In verse 1, notice what the Apostle Paul said to the church at Thessalonica, the Lord’s coming and us going to him. He talks to the church about it in the first letter. I Thessalonians 4:17 “TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR.” That is what this verse is talking about. In verse 2, he is trying to calm the church down. They had been deceived by false teachers into thinking the tribulation had already begun and they’d missed the rapture. We need this verse today with all that we are facing. Is your mind stable (in Christ), or is it easily shaken? If we are looking at what is going on around us instead of focusing on who is coming, our minds can be easily shaken. Can you have a good thought and a bad thought at the same time? The answer to that is no. Shaken or troubled means “inward pain; anxiety.” A lot of that is going on in our churches and behind the pulpit. We need to start looking up. In verse 3, “Let no man deceive you by any means.” ARE YOU FOLLOWING A FALSE PREACHER? The Apostle Paul is speaking the truth about the tribulation beginning after the rapture of the church. I am also talking about following a preacher that preaches the whole truth and nothing but the truth (so few and far between). So many have itching ears. By the grace of God and the sustaining power of the Holy Spirit, I will preach the truth of God’s Word. He says, “that day shall not come except…” What day is he talking about? “The day of Christ” (or day of the Lord) – the tribulation, the seven years of wrath and judgment poured out on the unbelieving world. Two things have to happen before this takes place. “except there come a falling away first” “and that man of sin be revealed.” The falling away is already happening. Evil is getting worse by the day. The anti-Christ will step onto the scene, which begins the tribulation. In verse 4, the anti-Christ will set himself up as God. This is also found in Daniel 9:27 and Matthew 24:15. This is halfway through the 7-year tribulation. In verse 5, how many times do Jesus and his preachers and prophecy writers have to tell you? It is time to wake up and do something for the Lord. In verse 6, who is withholding him that might be revealed to the world? The Holy Spirit. What or who else has the power to withhold the anti-Christ? No one. If it were up to Satan, the anti-Christ would already be revealed to the world. It has to be on the Lord’s timetable. If he were to be revealed before we went to heaven, our prayers would hinder him so much. With the restraining power of the Holy Spirit and all the saints gone, the anti-Christ will have nothing holding him back. In verse 7, Satan cannot do one thing unless the Lord allows him. The Holy Spirit and the saints of God are in the way of Satan and his plan. “Until he be taken out of the way.” Who is the he? The Holy Spirit. When the rapture takes place, then the restraining power of the Holy Spirit will be removed, and all of the saints are taken up. Then he will be let loose onto the world stage. In verse 8, there will be no one to stop him from carrying out his plan. When Jesus returns at the end of the tribulation, he will consume him with the spirit of his mouth (Revelation19:15). “Out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword.” Here in verse, 8 the brightness of the Lord will be too much for the anti-Christ to handle. In closing: 1 John 2:28 “And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.” Are you going to be confident or ashamed when you see his precious face? The word ashamed means embarrassed. Most Christians will have regret in their heart when they see the body of our Savior and what he did for them. Will you be one of them? Are you really washed by the blood of Jesus? Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Please read these two verses carefully.
