GENESIS 12:4 AMP
So Abram departed [in faithful obedience] as the Lord had directed him; and Lot [his nephew] left with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

Abraham was already seventy-five years old when the Lord called him to leave his father's house, away from his relatives and out of his own country into the land of Canaan.

At the age of 75, will you be willing to leave your country to a new land and start all over again? It is the age of rest and retirement and you just want to have a stable life to relax and enjoy.

Even if God calls you to do so and gave you such a wonderful promise of great blessings, you will either doubt if you hear correctly from God and then reject it or you will still reject and tell Him that you wouldn't wish to go.

But this is not so for Abraham. He had a whole clan of people he needed to bring along with him - his wife, his nephew, their possessions and all their servants. Yet, he immediately departed in faithful obedience to the Lord. He did not question the Lord, he did not doubt nor worry. He was quick to take up the call of God and act upon it right away. 

Abraham's relationship with God must be of such great closeness and intimacy that he came to trust God totally. So he was able to immediately obey the Lord even when the calling didn't seem to make sense for a 75-year old man who already had all that he needed.

It didn't matter how young or old you are. God can call you at any time. Even when you think you have passed your prime age, as long as you are willing God can use you to do great things.

If you have yet to receive your calling from God, take this time to build your relationship with Him to a deeper level of closeness and intimacy. So that when He calls you, you will be ready and quick to obey whatever and wherever He calls you to. 

Prayer:
Lord, I believe that You can use me to do great things regardless of my age. I will learn to trust You and be quick to obey when You call me. Amen.
