Knowing the Will of God (Part 2)

Matthew 6:9-13New King James Version (NKJV)
In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
In Matthew chapter 6, after Jesus taught the disciples about the Lord’s prayer, Jesus said to them, “Do not worry…” 3 times. (From v14 to v34, 20 verses.)

v25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life…”
v31 “Therefore do not worry...:”
v34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow…”

The way Jesus put it, it is almost like an order. It is a concluding statement.
If you have done mathematics in school, you would know that when we work out a problem sum, we would give a concluding statement with our calculated answer, e.g. “Therefore, there are 3 more pencils in the box than on the table.”

So Jesus CONCLUDED that you should NOT worry! And this is after Jesus taught the disciples how to pray!

Simply put, the will of God has nothing to do with earthly things, because God has already settled everything we need on earth! So Jesus was really trying to tell the disciples that praying to God is not just giving God our requests. It is not just giving God a “To-do” list.

So then what IS the will of God?
The will of God is written in Matthew 6:33:

Matthew 6:33
33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

The will of God is that we can seek FIRST the kingdom of God. The will of God is that we can seek His righteousness! When we do that, all these things shall be added to us!

“These things” refers to what we worry about in our lives. It could be our family relationships, or our financials, or our health, or even our ministry!

In other words, knowing the will of God means to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.

Friends, I want to encourage you to be bold and be courageous. Put aside every mistakes, every fear, every worry, every concerns, every negative thoughts, every negative feelings and every negative speech. Put them away. Because these are not part of the kingdom of God.

The kingdom of God is love, joy, peace, faith and hope. Hold on to these instead. God loves you very much to see you at where you are right now. He wants to give you more, but you will need to let go of your sorrows and run to Him. I believe that as you do that, you will get out of your bad situation very soon.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, the only requests I present to you today are these: Please give me the strength, boldness and courage to put away all the negative thoughts, feelings and speech. I pray that as I turn towards You, I can see Your face shining upon me. I pray for your love, joy, peace, faith and hope to be manifested in my life. I recognise that the situation will not change. So I shall walk out of this situation right now and walk into Your promises instead. Thank You Lord for Your great love. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
