Knowing the will of God (Part 3)

Matthew 22:37
37 Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Here are some practical ways we can seek the kingdom of God:

  1. Align your heart with God’s heart.

Psalm 33:13-15
He sees all the sons of men.
From the place of His dwelling He looks
On all the inhabitants of the earth;
He fashions their hearts individually;
He considers all their works.

God know’s our hearts. But do we know God’s heart? We have to align our heart with God’s.

*Ezekiel 28:2 and v6
“... you set your heart as the heart of a god…”
  • It is possible that we can set our heart as the heart of a god.

Having the heart of a person is like loving what the person loves, feeling how the person feels and disliking what the person dislikes. When you have the heart of a person, you are constantly having this feeling of wanting this person more.

Likewise, we have to constantly be feeling what God is feeling, love what God loves, and dislike what God dislikes.

Prayer: Lord, let my heart beat with Yours. Put in me a heart of flesh and take away this heart of stone.

  1. Put on the mind of Christ.

2 Cor 2:16
For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Colossians 3:2 (NKJV)

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

Philippians 2:5 (NKJV)

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

Jeremiah 17:10 (NKJV)

I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

Prayer: Lord, let me put on the mind of Christ. Let me think the way You think. Let me have Your wisdom and understanding. I pray that I can experience a transformation of my mind to be in accordance to Your Word.

  1. Walk according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk in according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:14 (NKJV)

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Matthew 4:1 (NKJV)

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Galatians 5:25 (NKJV)

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Romans 8:9 (NKJV)

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

These Scriptures tells us that Holy Spirit is of utmost importance in our lives. To seek the kingdom of God, is to walk according to the Spirit. Allow yourself to be led by the spirit. You will see that there's more to things than it seems. The Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you in every step of the way.

Prayer: Lord, I acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is the Helper that You have sent to us. Holy Spirit, I acknowledge that You are the one who will bring comfort and lead us to the place of victory. I want to be led by the Holy Spirit. I want to be close to You. Thank You Lord, in Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Dear friends, I have come to an end to this series on "Knowing the will of God". May I encourage you that God is indeed watching over you and Jesus is indeed beside you right now.

Father God, may Your blessings come upon every person who reads this blog. Keep them and send Your angels charge over their lives. Let heavens be open over them and may Your love be poured out upon them every single day. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
