Fighting the Battles of life

In life, we will face challenges and oppositions.

In fact we will face many fierce battles and obstacles.

Our Christian walk is not meant to be mediocre and mundane. Neither is it passive nor weak.

What kind of battles are you facing today? Is it a financial battle? Is it a battle against your health? Is it a battle to keep your marriage together? Is it a battlefield of the mind? Or is it a spiritual battle to conquer new grounds for Christ?

No matter what kind of battles we are fighting, God has equipped us to face and fight any challenge and win all the battles.

For its BY GOD that we can run against a troop and leap over a wall. He is our Rock, our strength and power. He anoints our hands and our feet that we will overcome the attacks of the enemies and exalt us to high places of victories. (2 Sam 22:29-37)

Our protection is in God. It is in His shield of Salvation. Eph 6:10-18 details about how we can be equipped to fight battles by putting on the whole armour of God. And one of them is the helmet of salvation.

We need to treasure and understand the power of the gift of God's salvation in our life. Our gift of salvation is a key reminder that it is not by our works but by the grace of God.
God's salvation delivers us from death into eternal life and from curses into blessings. Our salvation is described as helmet because of two things.

First, our head is where our brain and the central system of our body is. It is the CPU of our life. Without a head, there will be no life. Therefore our salvation protects our life, both in the Physical and Spiritual realm.

Second thing, winning a battle comes first from winning the battles in our mind. The key to win the battles of our mind is to put on the helmet of salvation and activate the power of the Cross over our life.

Finally though we are called to walk the narrow path, yet by His love and grace, God will enlarge our paths so that our feet will not slip. So don't be afraid to choose to walk the narrow path with Christ; for our God shall keep us safe and bring us to a place of victories into His Promised land!

II Samuel 22:29‭-‬37
29 “For You are my lamp, O Lord ; The Lord shall enlighten my darkness. 30 For by You I can run against a troop; By my God I can leap over a wall. 31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord  is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 32 “For who is God, except the Lord ? And who is a rock, except our God? 33 God is my strength and power, And He makes my way perfect. 34 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places. 35 He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 36 “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your gentleness has made me great. 37 You enlarged my path under me; So my feet did not slip.

Prayer:
Dear God, I am going through battles in my life. I need Your wisdom, grace and power to overcome the difficulties. You have not meant for me to live a life of failure and defeat but of success and breakthroughs. Increase my faith and renew my thinking with the word of God so that I can start with a victorious mindset. I thank You for the gift of salvation and that all my battles have already been conquered and won on the Cross of Calvary. I decree and declare that my days of defeat are over and I am now walking in the power of God and living a life of peace, joy, hope and abundant blessings. I believe and pray all these in Jesus' name, Amen!

God bless,
Hazel Ashley
