Getting Better

Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have Believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. —Matthew 8:13

What would your life be like if the thoughts in your mind Instantly Turned into a reality? If someone said to you, “as you have believed, so let it be done for you,” what would be manifested in your life in that instance? In a world where experiences shape our habits and habits eventually shape our reality, how can one break cycles of negative expectations in their life? How can you focus more on believing in the future you desire (as hard as it may be to know what it feels like because it has not happened as yet), as opposed to having expectations that prepare you for reiterations of a less than stellar past?

In the verse above, imagine if Jesus said to the centurion, “as you believed, so let it be done for you,” but the centurion believed his servant would remain sick. It provokes the question: How can a person stretch their expectations past their current boundaries, limitations, and circumstances? Since we live in a world where people usually get what they believe, it is no wonder there is that old adage that says, “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.” To put it in a more general sense, many times, those who constantly experience good things often eventually get even better, while those who constantly experience bad things often eventually become even worse. Why is that? To break the cycle of either of these patterns, a person must change the psychology of their thoughts.

One more time, let us ask, what would life be like if the thoughts in our minds instantly turned to reality? Would you have happiness, abundance, good relationships, a fulfilling career, and good tidings—or would your reality be uninspiring or depressive? Can you put yourself to the test by asking yourself this question often; meditating on, thinking about, and believing for great things, even in the midst of cycles and patterns that are negative? Do you know what will happen if this is done? Eventually, you will deject and reject occurrences that do not line up with your new beliefs, making room for the things you desire to materialize. We should frequently check our thoughts and ask: “If this belief of mine manifested right now, is it something I would be happy with?” If not, let us never dwell for too long on things we do not want. Instead, let us work to slowly but surely modify our thought patterns to match our long-term desires.

Lots of Love, XO
