Paradigm Shift

One night Joseph had a Dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever.
—Genesis 37:5 (NLT)

Joseph had a dream and told his dream to his brothers. This caused them to despise him and sell him off into slavery. Little did they know that their jealousy would actually be the launching pad to Joseph’s success and his destiny. Many times, we hear people speak of this Bible story of Joseph and they usually say things like, “Joseph should have never told his dreams to his brothers.” “When you have a dream, you should keep it to yourself or else people will try to destroy you.” Now, I agree with this sentiment to a certain extent. When you look around in this world, there is no doubt that there are a lot of Wicked things and wicked people all around. Nevertheless, wicked things and wicked people are no match for big dreams and a big God. Trust the process.

When you find yourself in paradigms where people call you arrogant or obnoxious, when you tell them your dream(s), that is usually the first step that will assist you in realizing there is a greater Paradigm somewhere for you to exist in. If all goes well, it is probably just a matter of time before you find yourself in a new place altogether. If you do not cower, you will eventually make it to a paradigm full of new people. When you tell these new people your dreams, your plans, and the faith steps you are taking, they will not get green with envy or call you arrogant. Instead, they will share their own faith steps and their own dreams with you and just as iron sharpens iron, you will realize you have now become a resident of a new paradigm, full of mutually beneficial partnerships.

How do the people around you react when you tell them your dreams and the steps your God is prompting you to take. Do they get angry and upset? Do they try to eject you from their midsts? I challenge your faith today: Let people do whatever they feel like doing. If people cannot handle the complete package of who you are, you do not need to be around them. Let people ostracize you or throw their stones and jabs at you until you run away. Humans are made as intelligent beings. It is an insult to your Creator to dumb yourself down or squeeze yourself into places you do not fit. God has created you to shine, to be an example of His glory, and to make His Name great. It is better to have mankind as your enemy than to be at the receiving end of God’s disapproval. Walk into the manifestation of every big dream that is placed in your heart. Let God be true and let every man (including your own flesh) be a liar (Romans 3:4). Trust God and follow your dreams!

Lots of Love, XO
