Know Your Role

All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.
—1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT)

The other day, I heard a story from a family friend. He told us that he accidentally started catering his own special recipe to people within a community. He made his own personal recipe for one group of people. Someone tasted it and hired him to make more for a different occasion. When telling us the story, he was adamant that he did not "purposely" aim to start catering. It was just something that happened—almost an accident. In this world, you have to be in tune with yourself and your gifts; your passions as they relate to wholeness and godliness. At the right time, God will lead you to things that are right for you.

I wish I can tell you that you will figure life out, just by coming to this blog, but that is far from true. The truth is, I only hope this blog encourages you to have more independence; to seek God daily for your assignments and for yourself. There are many things to be done in this world. What thing(s) are you called to do and what roles are you playing in the grand scheme of things? No one will be able to know this better than you.

I say this respectfully: you do not have a right to sit on your gifts and talents. They contribute to a bigger picture that might be difficult to understand. As the days go by, train your mind to see things less and less from just a local point of view. If you do not do the things you are called to, God is going to raise others who will be more likely to do things that you could have done. So, challenge yourself and be brave. Know your heart and step out to do something different or something great. Do not be afraid———and even if you are afraid, play your part anyway. God is with you and will guide you to all truths.

All my love,
