WALKING IN HOPE TOGETHER

The life of a single Parent can be filled with  everyday struggles, consuming a person's mind like a dense fog of fear. Living on auto pilot, trying to survive may be how a mother or father reacts to the daily challenges of working and caring for Children. Or the parent could go in the opposite direction and become so anxious and overwhelmed that they lose self-control, causing more problems for themselves and their offspring too.

Caring for and raising children and teens isn't a simple cut and dried process that can be easily learned or implemented. What's more each child is different in personality and disposition-making the job more complex. It's an enormous responsibility for two parents, let alone one. So does God care about you if you're in this situation now?

First of all, no matter why you're a single parent, He wants to bless and help you-mother or father- and those babies, children, or teens. Your circumstances may be the result of the death of a spouse, or wrong choices by others or yourself. Either way it doesn't stop Jesus Christ from loving and caring for you if you'll choose to allow Him. Your life doesn't have to spiral out of control from hopeless despair.

Jesus longs to give you a hope-a real one that you won't be ashamed of. Right now you may think there's nothing left to trust in or lean on but He is able do exceedingly beyond what you could ever imagine. In the book of Kings during a famine, a widow had given up hope for the survival of her family when suddenly a man showed up with a Word from God.
Elijah and the widow woman

After the mother obeyed the word that Elijah had spoken from God, she was given a miracle that helped provide for her and her son until the famine was over. Despite her deep need and sorrow, she chose to step out in faith and surrender all to God's will. And He honored her sacrifice and faith. If you feel as though all hope is gone then listen to Jesus as He speaks to you. (Many modern day false prophets use this Bible story to convince followers to give them money. Go here if you want to know more about these wolves in sheep's clothing)

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

In the New Testament another woman sought desperately for a cure for her disease. She had spent all her money going to doctors and still found no relief. But-when she heard about Jesus Christ, the deliverer and healer..

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.  Mark 5

This woman was very sick, weak, and poor-without any hope in this world. Did she lay down and die? Nope. But she heard about Jesus and pursued Him through the pain, the weariness, the doubts, the fears, and even the crowds that followed Him. She was a woman walking by faith and not by sight. And her faith was fulfilled! She touched Him and He knew it was her. She just needed to acknowledge it-Him. His virtue, power, and glory. Will you acknowledge Him? Will you reach out to touch Him-not faithless but believing His Word?

Your children don't deserve any less than the best parent they could possibly have-right? Follow Jesus and be the example your children can learn and live by in the midst of this ever changing, troubled world.
For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God. Psalm 78
