Down thru the years, I've given away a few books. Each one was special to me. I hoped that those receiving them would find the words within to be useful and a blessing in some way to them. It is a way for me to share my passion for knowledge with family and friends.
I gave one choice book to my daughter. It was a cookbook that contained recipes that had only five ingredients. I thought it could be useful to her since she didn't cook a lot and she was on a tight budget. And I hoped it would encourage her to cook healthier meals.
Another book I loved was about different kinds of personalities. It was similar to a biblically based meyers briggs study. Plus, it had tests you could take that would help you determine your own personality traits and god given gifts. I gave it to a friend who I hoped would read it and discover how he could be used better by God.
Once I had a book on demonology. I'm not sure whether I'd bought it or possibly my sister had given it to me. It was heavy stuff for sure. (translation-complex, dark, and yet informative)
Since I knew someone who had a friend experiencing demonic manifestations, I'd told her about the book. When she asked to read it I knew She needed it more than me.
Next, I gave my younger brother a book about creationism. It gave plenty of proof for the biblical story of the world's creation and more evidence against evolution. My brother had questions. He was searching for truth and this book-I believed- could help guide him in the right direction.
Ever since I was young, I had a desire to write a book. I didn't know what kind it would be though. In later years, the desire to write grew and I began the long process of accomplishing that goal. after much encouragement from my father (jesus) and many setbacks-plus small miracles- I finished my novel and self-published it. I gave away a few and sold a few more. I prayed that it would touch readers hearts And through their various comments I knew God answered my prayer.
Has there ever been a 'choice book' in your life? One that you can't stop reading-ever? One that stays with you, in your heart and mind all the time? One that you couldn't or wouldn't live without? I have that book and I hope you do too! hopefully your leather cover hasn't been worn off the front like mine. lol. (Not from abuse but use)
Yes, I'm talking about the holy bible, the good book, the word of god, and the road map for life. It's god's choice book for you. It won't lead you astray. It will take you far! oh the place you will go-if you live in its pages now and always.
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. I Peter 1:25
