The highway to hell.... 

I Love it when God speaks to me in my dreams. Many dreams come and go and completely escape the mind. But a dream from God, is a imprint you rarely forget. This particular dream that I want to share with you, was rather odd, but clearly stated. There was no denying what it was about. 

Let's get into it...

You see each one of us was driving our own car.. it was like our life was a vehicle. Everyone was headed in the same direction. The traffic jam build up, backed up as far as the eye could see. At first I didn't understand why we were all 1: in our own vehicles and 2: why we were all traveling down this very wide highway.. very dull and no end in sight. Yet wait! As I glanced through the drivers side window, I saw a Country Road where only a few drivers drove down. Briefly confused at first, but very quickly I was reminded of the verse in the bible about the narrow and wide path. Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14.

In that moment, I knew I had to get off this highway; this highway to hell. And get myself on the country road, the narrow road the heaven. Where I can spend eternity with the creator of heaven and earth. 

You see Jesus said I am the WAY, the truth and the life. He didn't say I am one of many ways, he said I am the way. It is through the precious gift of Christ that we too can accept the free gift of salvation and escape the wrath of God that is to come to those who reject Jesus Christ. I don't have all the answers. Writing this blog, isn't me saying I know it all. I share on these blogs what's blessed me so that you can be blessed too. 

It's so easy to remain on the high way to hell, because life is full of distractions. 

* Partying

* Alcohol

* Shopping

* Material goods

*Technology

* Money 

To name a few 

Now I'm not saying these things are bad. They are God given gifts and ideas. But when they become a distraction between us and a relationship with God. Then it becomes a problem. You are so loved by God. As we read in job 38 (the whole chapter check it out). We read God laid the foundation of the earth, he sets the course of the weather's we know and love today. He set the boundaries of the waters. The Bible is full of examples of what he does for us on a daily basis, like he brought forth the bounty of the plant life and fruits so we can enjoy the beauty and provisions during our life. There is nothing on this earth that is a surprise to God. He sees all, even darkness is but light to him. So hiding is pointless. 

But like that high way and country road. We each at some point will face the ultimate question. Which one road will we take. None come with an easy solution. Trouble is promised in life. Even Jesus said we'd face trouble. 

Remember what I said earlier, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. 

Way: like country roads, winding, sharp corners, up and down, left and right, you can't always see what's coming next, but the Holy Spirit was the promised gift to guide us down the path of abundant life. Abundant life doesnt mean excess of money and goods. True happiness comes from the riches in the fruits of the spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness , goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. It is in these we thrive. 

Truth: with the help of the holy spirit, we embark on an adventure of truth. Our eyes are opened to the revelation of the meaning behind the verses in the bible. Growing from strength to strength, joy to joy, peace to peace and contentment. With the work of the holy spirit we can grow in discernment of truth in our every day lives. Knowing lies from truth and discerning evil from good. 

Life: a life in Christ is never dull. If you are at a point where it's dull. Then I'm sorry but the problems you. You've taken your focus away from Christ. Because watching God at work in your life. Not knowing where you'll end up, or what he'll get you doing next. Or what you'll learn next. Or what challenge will cause growth in your life. What troubled time in your life, will cause you to see strange, unique and wonderful opportunities to bless, support and encourage yourself and others. Seeing God's miracles, signs and wonders take place in a world that is certain he's dead or doesn't exist. Living a life confident of the provisions of God, trusting the faithfulness of God and seeing God at work, is life in abundance. A life definitely worth it. 

So whether you find yourself on the highway to hell or are uncertain where you are, or maybe you are on the country road but are struggling. Nothing is impossible with God. I pray that where ever you are at you will encounter his wonderful attributes someway some how. 

Please don't wait another moment to decide on a life with Christ. He promised he will return. Every day we are seeing prophecies of the bible written thousands of years ago, unfold Infront of us. Like the Euphrates River drying up. The world aiming for payments via scanning of your hand or forehead. Rivers bursting forth from deserts (Saudi Arabia) wars and rumours of wars, Just to name a few. Gods judgements are coming and there's nothing we can do to stop it. But we can repent and ask God to show us what we can do to build one another up, spread love, joy and peace in a world desperate to stop itself from drowning in chaos. 

Open your heart to God. Sharing everything that's troubling you: needs, desires, concerns, doubts, fears, gratitude even anger. God can handle anything.. he just longs for you to speak to him. He has so much to tell us too, starting with I love you.

Father God in a world of chaos. Where everyone's fighting to be heard, understood and loved. Please help us to know your perfect love for us. Help us to heal from our past and give us the strength to move forward in the life you planned for us all along. Rid of in us the lie that you demand slaves. And release in us the truth of the relationship you desire and the love you have for us. Open our eyes to who you are to us, open our hearts to be more receptive to your holy spirit. Help us walk with you, learn more about you, and not to be afraid standing strong in the knowledge that you are in control. In Jesus name amen
