Christian under construction

Being a Christian can be hard work at times wouldn't you agree? There are times you think what's the point. Times of pure enjoyment. Times of frustration. Even times where you question if God is real. We all go through these periods in our life. And all of it is because of the spiritual battle that goes on every day of our life. The holy spirit; working on building us up, showing us how God sees us and wants to work through us. As well as the enemy trying to destroy us, by means of society, what we read, what we watch, other peoples opinions. All to make us feel useless, hopeless and a waste of space. All this so we don't reach our potential in christ. Exhausting right.

No where in the bible does it say be perfect or your doomed. God knows we will struggle, stumble, fall short. But in his love and grand plan, he designed the precise moment in time where his son Jesus would come and sort it all out with his ultimate sacrifice. But what I can say is God requires us to do our best and trust him to pull through with the rest.

Testimony
During college I received one of my assignments back, and the feed back I got was my English isn't good, I don't make sense. Can you imagine my reaction.. Well I burst out crying. You see that wasn't the first time I was told my English wasn't good and I don't make sense. I had it through high school and in the first college I went too. It felt like no matter how hard I tried I just failed. In my eyes getting the grades 'E' and 'F' wasn't good enough. I broke down and cried out to God saying why am I only able to achieve so little. That's when he reminded me of the film facing giants. You seeing during this film the coach instead of doing things in his own strength starts putting God in his training of his team. And one way of encouraging the team was to impact the team member who was most influential. When that team member stood in defeat they all followed, which meant they didn't play to their full potential. So the coach got the lad to do what they called to be the death crawl.
This crawl entitled him to carry the other team member from one side of the field to the other. At first he had that's impossible sort of attitude. But the Coach said I reckon you can go all the way. But the twist was he blind folded him. So this lad starts the crawl and after so far starts getting tired but the coach encourages him not to give up. Each step of the way the coach is right there following, shouting encouragements. When the lad uses literally everything he has and more he crashes to the ground complaining 'I can't go any further' that's when the coach smiles and tells him to look up 'your in the endzone' the entire team stand in amazement at what they've just seem. That's when the coach says "you are the biggest influence in the team, if you stand defeated so will they, God has given you the gift of leadership don't waste it" he encourages the team to do their best and let God do the rest. This is what God reminded me why I had my breakdown. And I felt him saying that the lad doing the death crawl is like us running the race in life and he's the coach running next to us encouraging us not to give up when we hit our weakest moments. If we do our best we are to trust the rest up to him. So as I re-did my assignments to the best of my potential, I handed them in and gave it all up to God, trusting the results and my future in his hands. That's when God showed his wonders even in something as little as coursework. My grades jumped from E's to A's or B's or C's. As you can imagine I was in awe. Hallelujah.

So no matter what we are facing, remember we don't need to strive for perfection in our own strength otherwise we are setting ourselves for an emotional ride. We need to remember God is working in us and through us, he isn't done with us yet. As long as we do our best at what task he sets us, the rest is up to him. It was never our job to worry. He is our provider, our protector, our father, care giver, our friend. And we are His delight, his precious, his love, his masterpiece. Be blessed.

Let's pray.
Father I thank you for the person reading this. Lord please fill them up with your unfailing peace. Take the fear and anxiety of life away and replace it with your spirit. So they feel refreshed. Knowing that as they do their best you'll take care of the rest. Show them just how much they mean to you, how much you love them. Open their and my eyes to this, so we can walk every day with confidence that the King of Kings has our backs. In jesus name amen.
