A couple, Charlie Rowley, 45, and Dawn Sturgess, 44, were left 'foaming at the mouth' after touching an item in a park in Salisbury near where ex-Russian spy and his daughter were attacked using a nerve agent.
They are being treated at Salisbury Hospital after they were found unconscious at a property in nearby Amesbury, Wiltshire, on Saturday.
Novichok is said to be ten times more powerful than other deadly poisons such as Sarin and ingesting or absorbing even a single particle can prove fatal.
Curiously, according to Defence sources, the couple have no connections with Russia or security services. Nevertheless, they were poisoned and samples have been sent to the Porton Down research facility for urgent testing.
Doctors concluded that the pair have been poisoned by toxins and are showing very similar symptoms to the former Russian military intelligence colonel and his daughter Julia.
