Usually described as “Comrade Ri”, Kim Jong-un’s wife is now being described as the regime’s “first lady” by state media

It appears that Ri Sol-ju, the wife of the North Korean leader is gradually coming out of her shell. Lately, she has become a regular feature of the usually staid official media.






Apparently she is being prepared for a starring role in forthcoming summits with the leaders of South Korea and the US.




The North Korean leader is preparing for a summit next week with President Moon of South Kora and a meeting in May or June with President Trump.

Not much is known about Kim's wife. She seems to be in her late 20s or early 30s. She is said to have visited South Korea as a cheerleader for the 2005 Asian Athletics Championships.
