Musical chairs game : Egyptian club Zamalek sack 23rd coach in four years

After three straight losses in the league, Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has sacked coach Ehab Galal. The latest loss for the Egyptian club was a 2-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Al Ittihad.

It must be noted that Galal was Zamalek's 23rd head coach since Mansour became club president in April 2014.

Interestingly, before the league losses, Zamalek had been knocked out of the Confederation Cup by Ethiopia's Welayta Dicha.

Galal was hired in January to replace Montenegrin coach Nebojsa "Nebo" Jovovic who had earlier been fired.

Ehab Galal is to be replaced by another Galal, this time Khaled, who will be in charge while the club looks to hire a foreign coach.

Zamalek are currently third in the Egyptian league but they are 25 points behind leaders and archrivals Al Ahly, who have a game in hand as well.
