The National Rifle Association and American lives

It was difficult not to be moved to tears while watching the Florida governor Rick Scott being joined by colleagues and parents of school shooting victims as he signs a gun control bill

Surprisingly, the National Rifle Association has sued Florida after the state passed the gun control bill.  It then leaves you wondering if members of the association are made of wood or something.

Several weeks after their children were gunned down in the worst high school shooting since Columbine, parents and survivors of the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School watched Rick Scott, the Florida governor, sign a bill that places new restrictions on guns. Just hours later, the NRA filed a federal lawsuit to block it.

The NRA has argued that the measure “punishes law-abiding gun owners for the criminal acts of a deranged individual”.

The executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, Chris Cox, said that the Florida shooter “gave repeated warning signs that were ignored by federal and state officials.”
