“We like to say peoplekind,” Mr Trudeau told a woman who used the word “mankind” during a town hall meeting in Edmonton, Alberta
At a town hall meeting in Edmonton, a woman had asked a long question about charity law. She revealed that she was from the World Mission Society Church of God, which specifically celebrates “the female aspect” of religion and preaches a “maternal love that’s going to change the future of mankind.”
Mr Trudeau's reply was prompt. He said,
“We like to say peoplekind, not necessarily mankind, because it's more inclusive” This prompted laughter.
Last week the word “sons” was officially removed from the Canadian national anthem to make it gender neutral.
