God Brings Healing

What are the best tips and tricks that you can do to help yourself feel better when you're sick? We're all different, and there are bound to be countless things that help some and not others. For myself, the thing that helps me recovering when I'm sick best is curling up on the couch with soup, watching chick flicks for the day, taking time to rest. We all have different ways of coping, and usually they help lift us up and begin to start feeling better faster. When it comes to making your Healing your spiritual self, looking at the soul, it's important to heal what is tainted through using the tools God gives us. So often we can become overwhelmed by temptations and sins that we fall astray, harming our spiritual self. God shows us that, similar to when we are physically sick, there are many ways we can get back on track and continue to seek Him. The best of these methods is through seeking reconciliation and healing through the Sacraments. Are you being called towards finding spiritual healing?
Today's Gospel states: 'On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Sama'ria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." When he saw them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then said Jesus, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your Faith has made you well"' (Luke 17:11-19).
Today's reading talks about how Jesus blesses the Samaritan, telling him that his faith has made him well. It's not as simple as with physical healing we typically experience, where you can stick a band-aid on the wound and continue on in your day. God shows us that we can seek Him for all healing, starting with our soul, our spiritual self. When we start with having faith, and believe that God is working in us, through us, beside us, then we can find the healing we need in order to live our lives to the fullest. Is God calling you to take more time to focus on healing your spiritual self? Take some time today to pray and ask God to help get you to the point where your faith gives you strength and healing in every situation.
Today we pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for helping me to see that my faith can bring me healing. Help me to continue working on being a better disciple so that I can have hope and find strength where I need it most in my life.
I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
