As you may remember from our “Five things to know about Christian Mahogany” piece, the former Boston College offensive lineman lost a close friend of his in 2023. Devin Willock, a close friend and high school teammate of Mahogany’s, died in a car crash just hours after the Georgia football program celebrated a National Championship with a parade.
Earlier this year, Mahogany launched a GoFundMe in an effort to establish a scholarship in Willock’s name.
“In remembrance of Devin’s extraordinary life, The Devin Willock Legacy Scholarship Award is dedicated to helping students in financial need through a scholarship program for residents of the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area,” the GoFundMe reads.
“The scholarship will serve as a platform for aspiring individuals to pursue their dreams, mirroring Devin’s commitment to excellence. We encourage prospective applicants to sign up, as we are in the process of creating a meaningful review system that ensures the fund benefits those who embody the qualities Devin exemplified.”
As of this publication, the GoFundMe account has raised over $2,700, but Mahogany is hoping Lions fans can push this much closer to their goal of $45,000.
The City of Detroit and fans I am asking for help to reach my goal for a scholarship for my brother who passed away tragically. Anything will help as I want to keep my brother Devin’s legacy go on for the next generations of students! https://t.co/5sTRHTmM8o

- PFF was kind to the Lions when it came to their top-25 under 25 list and also their offseason rankings. You probably won’t be as big of a fan of their quarterback rankings.
