The Lions are hurting on offense going into Week 11.

The Detroit Lions will be missing three of their top offensive weapons for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. The team announced on Friday afternoon that running back D’Andre Swift, and wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola are out this week.

Swift is recovering from a concussion that has held him out since Thursday. Head coach Matt Patricia didn’t comment on when or how the concussion was suffered, but obviously symptoms starting appearing sometime after Wednesday’s practice—in which Swift was a full participant—and Thursday, when Swift was out.

Per Lions running back coach Kyle Caskey, it looks like veteran Adrian Peterson will start in Swift’s place with Kerryon Johnson taking on many of Swift’s role as a speedy, agile back and a potential receiving weapon out of the backfield.

As for wide receivers, the Lions will have to rely upon Marvin Jones Jr., Marvin Hall, rookie Quintez Cepheus, and potentially Jamal Agnew, who will return from injury this week. The Lions could also bring up one of three receivers on the practice squad: Mohamed Sanu, Tom Kennedy or Victor Bolden.

Lions wide receivers coach Robert Prince told media on Friday that Sanu has quickly picked up the playbook.

“He’s an ex-quarterback, so he’s got that quarterback mind,” Prince said. “He actually picked up the offense fairly quickly, and he understands concepts. So he’s been a great addition.”

As for Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, all signs point to him playing on Sunday. He is officially listed as questionable for Week 11, but ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler is reporting Stafford is “expected to start” against the Panthers. Quarterbacks Coach Sean Ryan told Kyle Meinke of MLive that Stafford has looked good in the past two weeks of practice.

As for the Panthers, it looks like there’s a little more optimism on Friday that quarterback Teddy Bridgewater could play. He is officially listed as questionable, after being limited in practice all week. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says that Bridgewater participated more in Friday’s practice than in previous sessions and will be a game-time decision.
