Detroit Lions Kicker Matt Prater was named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday morning.

Prater was perfect last Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, booting four field goals on four attempts while converting on both extra points. Admittedly, it was a fairly easy day for Prater, whose longest field goal of the day was a 39-yard field goal. However, that was the game-winning kick that gave Detroit its first win of the season as time expired.

This is the 11th time Prater has won the award in his 15-year career. It’s already his sixth in Detroit after joining the team in 2014.

But Prater isn’t the only player boosting Detroit’s special teams. Punter Jack Fox has also been electric, leading the team in both gross and net punting averages, while pinning seven of his 13 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.

As a result of both Prater’s and Fox’s skills, the Lions currently rank third in Football Outsiders’ DVOA metric for special teams.
