The Detroit Lions have their smallest Injury Report of the season.
The Detroit Lions may have started the season out with a lot of injuries, but they appear to be improving quickly.
On Wednesday’s first Injury report of the week, the Lions only had a total of four players on the list. Safety C.J. Moore was the only player that missed practice, while tight end Hunter Bryant and Desmond Trufant continue to practice in anticipation for both of their returns to play. Bryant hasn’t played yet this season, while Trufant has missed the past two games.
The Lions could certainly use Trufant’s return, as the Lions secondary has struggled in his absence. While Lions defensive backs were responsible for two interceptions last week against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals, they still struggled for most of the game. Luckily, it looks like Trufant is making some progress at practice:

New on the injury report this week is defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand. He is currently listed with a chest injury that had him limited during practice. It’s unclear if this is an injury he suffered during Sunday’s game against the Cardinals or if its something that popped up during Wednesday’s practice.
The good news for Detroit is that several players are off the injury report completely, including Kenny Golladay, Halapoulivaati Vaitai and Nick Williams—all of whom missed time earlier in the season.
Here’s a look at Detroit’s entire Wednesday injury report:
Lions Week 4 injury report - Wednesday
S C.J. Moore (calf) - No practice
TE Hunter Bryant (hamstring) - Limited practice
DT Da’Shawn Hand (chest) - Limited
CB Desmond Trufant (hamstring) - Limited
As for the Saints, the big news is that wide receiver Michael Thomas returned to practice for the first time since suffering his ankle injury in the season opener. He was still limited on Wednesday, so it’s still unclear if he’ll return this week.
On the other hand, three starters did not practice for New Orleans: tight end Jared Cook, guard Andrus Peat and cornerback Janoris Jenkins. Here’s their full injury report:
Saints Week 4 injury report - Wednesday
TE Jared Cook (groin) - No practice
CB Janoris Jenkins (illness) - No practice
G Andrus Peat (ankle) - No practice
DE Marcus Davenport (elbow) - Limited
LB Chase Hansen (hip) - Limited
