Farewell 2019 Detroit Lions, Farewell Chris, Farewell 3 key players?

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a somber season finale for the Podcast.

This week’s PODcast is a somber one. While we’re all grateful that the 2019 season has finally come to an end, and the Detroit Lions are in a prime position to get good value out of the 2020 NFL Draft with the third overall pick, it’s time to say some tough goodbyes.

Saying goodbye to a 3-12-1 season will be far from tough, but the end of the season could mean the end of Lions careers for three key players headed in three different directions. Graham Glasgow seem to already have one foot out the door for free agency. Damon Harrison Sr. is suddenly seriously considering retirement, just months after signing an extension through the 2021 season. And Darius Slay, who was at the forefront of trade rumors in October, could still be headed in that direction.

Then, of course, we have to say our own personal goodbye to the founder of the PODcast. Chris Perfett is being forced out of his position as podcast host by way of unfortunate circumstances, and he deserved a proper send off.

We’ve got all of that, plus some draft talk and some Lions vs. Packers recap in this week’s PODcast. Give it a listen:

This week on the PODcast

  • Lions fans got the best of both worlds: An entertaining, competitive game against their biggest rival, and a loss that gave them a top-three pick.
  • The Lions have a running game?
  • Sunday’s game was a perfect encapsulation of the season: Blown leads, devastating injuries, and just enough promise to get your hopes up.
  • What does the future hold for Darius Slay, Damon Harrison Sr., and Graham Glasgow? What does that say about the Lions?
  • We say farewell to Chris.
