The former Lions draft pick will have a second chance in San Francisco.

It’s been almost exactly a month since the Detroit Lions finally parted ways with 2017 second-round pick Teez Tabor. Now the struggling cornerback has finally found a new team.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Tabor is signing to the 49ers’ practice squad:

In two years in Detroit, Tabor only played in 22 game and started just five. He never recorded so much as a single pass defended.

There was some hope that Tabor had turned the corner this offseason, as he came into training camp with a clear change in attitude. Unfortunately for Tabor, he suffered a leg injury and missed most of camp and the preseason.

Perhaps there’s still hope for Tabor, who will now share a locker room with some seriously talented cornerbacks in Richard Sherman and Ahkello Witherspoon. Of course, he’ll still has some work to do to even get his way onto the 49ers’ 53-man roster.
