Lions-Vikings injury updates: Ezekiel Ansah limited in estimated practice report

Ziggy is trending in the right direction!

The Detroit Lions don’t have a lot of time to prepare for the Minnesota Vikings to come to town, as gameday is just three days away. Despite the fact that the Lions did not Practice on Monday, they are required to submit an injury report to the league. These reports reflect the participation team doctors estimate would have happened had the team practiced. In other words, we get an insight to how the Lions are doing health-wise, even though they didn’t practice.

The news was mixed. Ezekiel Ansah was estimated as a limited participant in practice. If Ansah returns to an actual practice this week, it would be the first time he has participated at all in two weeks, as a back injury has held him out of the last two games. Limited participation means he’s trending in the right direction, but he won’t have much time to prepare for the Vikings.

Jamal Agnew, who injured his knee against the Bears, was estimated as an absence from Monday’s “practice.” Agnew told reporters after the game that he didn’t think the injury was serious and said “I’m good,” but this injury report suggests he may not be ready to go for Thursday.

In better news, Jalen Reeves-Maybin was listed as a full participant. The rookie linebacker has missed the past two games with an ankle injury. During those games, the Lions have given up over 4-0 rushing yards. Reeves-Maybin won’t be the end-all solution to that problem, but having him back this week should help.

On the Vikings side, there were a few key names listed on their injury report, which was also based on estimates (they did not practice Monday, either). Cornerbacks Xavier Rhodes and Mackensie Alexander were listed as “no practice” due to calf and ankle injuries respectively. Starting right tackle Mike Remmers was also a non-participant, as he continues to go through concussion protocol. Remmers has missed the past two games.

Here is the full injury report for both teams:
