Observations
- Dwayne Washington was unsurprisingly the feature back against the Bears, and he put up decent stats to justify that. Even if Theo Riddick returns to the lineup next week, expect Washington to maintain a big role as he may be the team's best rusher at this point. Joique Bell was a non-factor.
- For the second week in a row, Michael Burton had just one offensive snap. The Lions may not have a fullback in 2017.
- With Marvin Jones back in the lineup, the wide receiver distribution was back to its normal look. TJ Jones was inactive despite a promising 2016 debut against the Saints.
- Welcome to special teams, Joe Dahl!

Observations
- DeAndre Levy was eased back into the game, playing just 32 percent of the snaps. In 18 defensive plays, Levy managed four tackles and a half tackle for loss. Not a bad debut.
- Speaking of linebackers, the Lions went easy on the three safety looks this week, instead opting to go with a more formal looking nickel formation. Likely because of Tahir Whitehead's return, the Lions linebackers saw much more playing time. After combining for 98 snaps last week, Lions linebackers had a total of 108.
- The sacrificial lamb of those stats appears to be Miles Killebrew, who only saw eight snaps after playing for 21 last week.
- With the Lions short at cornerback due to Quandre Diggs' season-ending injury, newly-acquired Asa Jackson saw a significant amount of playing time on Sunday. He even picked up a key open field tackle on third down.
